Being Part of Omnivorous Festival with Community Roots Housing

Being part of the Omnivorous Festival last year was a great experience for us at Apapacho Mexican Treats.

Hosted by Community Roots Housing, the event brings together local food businesses to support affordable housing initiatives across Seattle. It’s one of those spaces where food and community naturally come together.

For us, it was about showing up, being part of something meaningful, and also just enjoying the moment. Connecting with other vendors, sharing our food, and seeing people try marquesitas for the first time made it a really fun experience overall.

At the same time, it’s a cause that feels close to home. Access to affordable housing is something that impacts real people in our communities, and being able to contribute, even in a small way, matters.

We also had the opportunity to introduce marquesitas to a new audience and be part of a larger group of local businesses doing great work across the city.

We’re grateful to Community Roots Housing for creating spaces like this and for the work they continue to do in Seattle.

At Apapacho Mexican Treats, we believe in showing up, sharing what we do, and being part of the community in ways that go beyond just serving food.
